Warnings and Notes as of 30-March-2011

1. The sessions, the schedules and the social events were updated

2. Registration desk will open at 8.00 am of Monday April 4th.

3. The authors need to:

- download their presentation in the central slide room at least half an hour in advance of the start of the relevant session

- prepare a short bio-data and hand it over to the chairman of the relevant session

The SEWC2011 Organizing Committee apologizes for the not yet defined status of the abstracts which still are labelled AD (awaiting decision); the Scientific Committee will clear the positions as soon as possible and will postpone the submittal of the final accept paper until February 15th, 2011.

  1. The following additional special sessions and a cultural tour are planned:
    • Sino-Italian workshop: The buildings of the Shangai Expo
    • Bridge Italy seminar: Recent Italian bridges by young engineers
    • Cultural walking tour in Como:
      The famous buildings designed by Terragni in the thirties
      The permanent exhibition of the Sant' Elia projects sketched in the twenties
    • The tour will be effected in the morning of April 7th 2011

  2. Registration and fee payment at the Congress desk on April 5th 2011.
  3. Because some authors are late with their work, the final date for the abstract acceptance is postponed to December 31st, 2010
   

Aim

The Structural Engineers World Congress [SEWC] is an international conference with worldwide participation by structural engineers. The primary purpose of SEWC2011 is to focus on the overall practice of structural engineering for both the technical and the theoretical aspects, including materials, actions, design, construction, research and tests. The conference will be addressed towards the needs of know-hows for the structural engineering world-wide, and to improve  co-operation among persons who share the same interests.

Conference Dates are 4th, 5th and 6th April, 2011
Venue - Villa Erba in Como-Cernobbio (North of Milano - Italy)

   

Scientific Committee

Eminent Professors and professional Engineers specialized in the Congress topics and residing in great number of countries are being appointed for the evaluation of the abstracts, which will be submitted, and for the revision of the final papers. Selected specialists will present the state of the art of the themes during general sessions.
